"inherited lines" is an independent
research of the morphology house typology in indonesia throughout the decades.
the emphasis suggests continuity and lineage in spatial elements, from the
colonial era to the present, by adapting jean-nicolas-louis durand's
comparative method. by reducing the architectural elements to solid walls and
openings, the aim is to reveal the dichotomy and quality within spaces. the
"inherited lines" open up opportunities to uncover the cultural,
social, and historical instruments that have shaped the architecture of
indonesian homes and to trace the influence and adaptation of design principles
across generations.
